Mary graduated from the University of Chester with a degree in PE/Sports Science and a Masters in Sociology of Sport & Exercise. She has gained a wide array of experience in Sports Development over the last ten years in roles such as Activities Co-ordinator, Development Officer, Coach, Tutor and Facilitator.
She has worked with the Sport England Quality Clubs Programme, engaging with a wide range of NGBs in the process. She held the position of National Development Officer with the Ladies Gaelic Football Association, and currently is a National Coaching Tutor for the LGFA. She acts as Facilitator for Coaching Ireland and has also accredited schools for the Active Schools Flag.
More recently, Mary has lectured PE modules in Mary Immaculate College and delivered a number of PE classes in local schools. She has always had a keen interest in equality, and as part of CARA’s Training and Education Framework she will be focusing on the areas of Inclusive PE and Inclusive Sports Coaching.
Her experience to date will be invaluable in her role as Training and Education Co-ordinator and she is committed to increasing participation opportunities for all.
