Among the first signatories attending the recent launch of the Sport Inclusion Disability Charter in Leinster House, was Padraig Healy who is the Sports Inclusion Disability Officer for Kildare Sports Partnership.
Padraig says: “Kildare Sports Partnership is delighted to be the first Local Sports Partnership to sign the new Sports Inclusion Disability Charter developed by CARA in partnership with people with a disability across the country. The five key areas outlined in the Charter are essential to creating a culture of inclusion across the sports and physical activity sector in Ireland. We are looking forward to supporting clubs, facilities and organisations to implement each of the areas which people with a disability outlined as currently being a barrier to participation for them.”
“We have listened to the voices of people with a disability, the time has come for us to now implement change in every club, facility and organisation we are involved in.”
