RECOGNISING SUCCESS

The National Inclusion Awards 2017 takes place on November 30th next.

Last Year’s Winner of the Local Sports Club Category was Carrigaline United AFC in Co. Cork.

“The FAI club programme Football for All was established at Carrigaline United AFC in 2011 and since then has grown from strength to strength. Winning the Best Sports Club category in the CARA National Inclusion Awards was a fantastic achievement for the club and a culmination of all the hard work our children, parents, coaches and the club has put in over the years to make the FAI Football for All programme a success.

Attending the conference prior to the award ceremony was also of huge value and very revealing of the challenges so many organizations like ourselves must overcome to enhance inclusivity and accessibility.

Our clubs motto is “Peil do gach eile duine” (Football For All), it is a community led club, dependent on the contribution of volunteers with a strong focus on inclusion and accessibility, so as to serve local communities in the vicinity and beyond Carrigaline. We will continue this trend, meeting the needs of the community and involving more people in sport.”
