Cara welcomes Odhran Doherty to the team
We are delighted to welcome Odhran Doherty to Cara who takes on the role of Sports Inclusion Coordinator. Odhran will be working closely with the national network of Local Sports Partnerships and the Sports Inclusion Disability Officers, with the ultimate aim of increasing sport and physical activity opportunities for people with disabilities across Ireland.
Odhran stated: “I am excited by the challenge to make a positive impact on enhancing the opportunities available for people with disabilities to enjoy and benefit from actively participating in sport & physical activity. I look forward to working closely with Sport Ireland, Local Sports Partnerships and National Governing Bodies of Sport to continue to build on the significant progress that has already been achieved in this area over the last number of years. It is an exciting time to be involved in Cara and Sport Inclusion within Ireland and I look forward to working towards Cara’s vision of putting disability sport and inclusive physical activity at the heart of our nation”.
Odhran has worked for Disability Sport Northern Ireland for the past 7 years in Club Development, Coach Education and Performance Sport roles with a particular focus on the development of Boccia and opportunities for people with physical disabilities working closely with Sport NI, UK Sport, Sports Institute NI & the National Disability Sports Organisations in Ireland & the UK.
