Training & Education Update – October 2021

2020 and 2021 offered us a fantastic opportunity to deliver our workshops through a virtual platform.  It has allowed us to reach a wide selection of audiences and sectors and has helped us to discover a new way to deliver our workshops on our Training and Education Framework. While many people were working from home in 2020, the online accessibility of Cara workshops proved to be hugely beneficial and easier for participants to attend.  Our tutor network has provided huge support so that we could make this transition to online delivery over this period, and to them we are incredibly grateful.

In consultation with our training and education working group and the wider team of Cara, we have begun to reflect on and are seeking clarity around the delivery and support of our training workshops and resources.  We are looking to discover what our delivery approach will look like and what structures need to be put in place to allow a safe return to direct delivery and what our blended approach will consist of.   With the gradual lifting of restrictions now taking place, we too are once again adapting to meet the growing needs of the sector.

While the health and safety of both our tutors and workshop attendees are paramount to us, we have taken the decision to facilitate a review period, over the next few months.  This will reduce the number of further bookings we will take on for the remainder of 2021.  Until then, we will be planning and preparing for a safe return to our workshop delivery and all finalised details of these plans will be communicated soon.

Due to the phenomenal demand for these workshops, we are currently approaching capacity for what we can deliver over this period and have limited availability left for workshops in October.  We would encourage anyone interested in facilitating a workshop over this period to get in contact as soon as possible.

We would like to take this opportunity to sincerely thank everyone for your ongoing support of our workshops, and to your commitment to the inclusion of people with disabilities in sport and physical activity.

We look forward to announcing our updated approach to our Training and Education workshops and resources and to working with you all in the very near future.
